MBSAQIP Accreditation

MBSAQIP Logo St. Claire HealthCare is accredited as a comprehensive center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

The MBSAQIP standards ensure that bariatric surgical patients receive a multidisciplinary program, not just a surgical procedure, which improves patient outcomes and long-term successes.

St. Claire Surgical Weight Loss offers patients pre- and post-operative care, in addition to continued medical and support services to help patients improve their health. Our team consists of surgeons, a program coordinator, nurses, and nutritionists, who all collaborate to provide coordinated, safe and seamless patient care.

To earn the MBSAQIP designation, SCH met essential criteria for staffing, training, facility infrastructure and protocols for care. As a Comprehensive Center, the Medical Center participates in a national data registry that produces semiannual reports on the quality of its processes and outcomes, as well as identifying opportunities for continuous quality improvement.
