Surgical Services

St. Claire HealthCare's highly skilled surgical services team provides a wide array of surgical services at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. The safety and comfort of our patients always come first. We strive to make each and every patient's surgical experience both positive and healing.

General Surgery

We provide all aspects of patient care related to each field of general surgery, including gastrointestinal, adult oncology, peripheral vascular and trauma surgery. The division is highly regarded for emphasizing minimally invasive procedures. These procedures include stereotactic breast biopsy, laparoscopic appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair and reflux surgery.

Vascular Surgery

SCH offers patients with vascular disease comprehensive care that is based upon the individual needs of the patient. Testing is necessary to definitively diagnose vascular disease. We offer a full range of non-invasive, painless tests to promote the early detection and management of vascular disease, and endovascular procedures such as stent placement and angioplasty.

Thoracic Surgery

Our thoracic surgery service is committed to providing exemplary care to patients with surgical needs and is known for applying minimally invasive methods whenever possible.

Orthopedic Surgery

Our orthopedic surgeons treat a variety of musculoskeletal diseases and conditions, ranging from fractures to complex reconstructions and surgery of the extremities.

Hand Surgery

We provide a full range of procedures for the treatment, function and appearance of the hand, including injuries, degenerative disorders (such as arthritis), carpal tunnel and birth defects.

Hip Resurfacing and Partial Knee Replacement

We offer both hip resurfacing and partial knee replacement as a less invasive alternative to traditional replacement surgery. These options are ideal for younger patients and allow them to return to the activities they love quickly.

Surgical Weight Loss

Bariatric (weight-loss) surgery can improve your overall health and change your life! Recommended for adults with a body mass index (BMI) above 40 (or 35 for those experiencing obesity-related health complications), bariatric surgery can result in a considerable amount of weight loss over a short period of time. Not only will you look better, but you'll feel better as you will dramatically reduce your risk of obesity-related health issues, like diabetes, heart and lung problems, stroke, sleep apnea, joint disease and many more.
