Occupational Therapy

If an illness or injury has made everyday activities (occupations) difficult, you may benefit from occupational therapy. This rehabilitation technique is designed to improve your functional independence and help you take part in the things you want and need to do.

We provide services for an array for injuries and conditions, which impact the ability to perform daily activities safely and efficiently, such as:

  • Surgeries including pre/post-operative care
  • Stroke or other neurologic injuries
  • Falls or decreased balance
  • Amputations
  • Repetitive motion injuries
  • Accidents
  • Work-related injuries/industrial rehab
  • Cancer
  • Lymphedema

At St. Claire, our occupational therapists help people across the lifespan relearn or improve the "skills for the job of living" that are necessary to ensure satisfying, fulfilling, and independent lives. Such skill include, but are not limited to:

  • Activities of daily living (self-care skills including toileting, grooming, hygiene, dressing, eating, sleep)
  • Instrumental activities of daily living (cooking, cleaning, housekeeping, managing medications, etc.)
  • Driving
  • Returning to work
  • Community or leisure participation

Each patient will receive an individualized evaluation during which the patient, their family, and occupational therapist will determine personalized goals. We will create a customized treatment plan to improve the patient’s ability to perform daily activities and reach their goals.
