Through a unique affiliation with the renowned UK Markey Cancer Center, St. Claire HealthCare provides the same level of services, technology, and quality of care that’s found in larger Kentucky healthcare systems. Our patients
receive some of today’s most advanced radiation and chemo therapies close to home at the Cancer Treatment Center located on St. Claire HealthCare's campus.

This partnership allows for University of Kentucky (UK) physicians to provide on-site advanced cancer treatments in Morehead and provides over $4 million in new radiation medicine equipment. Some of the new radiation equipment includes:

  • Linear Accelerator with Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) capability. This is an external beam radiotherapy, which delivers more precisely targeted radiation beams to tumors, while sparing the surrounding healthy tissue—a painless procedure.
  • Siemens Sensation Open CT Simulator—a comprehensive oncology solution for advanced virtual CT simulation. This enables visualization of the complete anatomy for more accurate oncology treatment planning, which optimizes the clinical process of image-guided radiation therapy planning.
