Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

St. Claire's comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation unit is conveniently located on the fifth floor of St. Claire Regional Medical Center. This unit is ideal for patients who require a combination of therapies including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy because of life-changing illnesses or accidents.

We provide two levels of care to meet your rehab needs:

  • Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation

Patients admitted to this service require intensive rehabilitation services in a hospital setting. The most common conditions for patients needing intensive inpatient rehabilitation include, but are not limited to, stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, major trauma, amputation, and other neurological and orthopedic conditions.
  • Transitional Care

This service is a perfect fit for patients that need extra rehabilitation and training after an acute hospital stay, but before going home. If you have weakness, decreased ability to walk or maintain your balance, or decreased ability to participate safely in your self-care and regular activities following a hospitalization, you may be a candidate for this service.

Our interdisciplinary team of rehabilitation experts prepares an individualized and flexible Plan of Care that guides the rehabilitation journey for each patient. We work closely with our patients and their families to return each patient to the highest level of independence possible within their home and community. Family members are an integral part of our team and are encouraged to participate from the initial assessment through the daily treatment regimen, discharge planning, and post inpatient phases.

Our rehabilitation physician, skilled nurses, specialized therapists, and devoted staff work hard to ensure that each patient receives the quality medical care they require, administered with a personal touch. You and your family can rest assured, knowing that we strive to meet this goal every day, with every patient.
