Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

At St. Claire Healthcare, our rehabilitation specialists include physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. We focus on the whole person and not just the part of the body being treated. Our therapists provide individualized, goal-oriented treatment with an emphasis on hands-on or manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and active patient participation in the rehabilitation process. Our goal is to guide you through the process and to give you a better understanding of the problem at hand and your body. Your involvement in the treatment plan will be one of the most important aspects of your therapy.

Outpatient Rehabilitation

For patients who need ongoing care after leaving the hospital, we provide outpatient rehabilitation services to meet their needs. Services include:

Inpatient Rehabilitation

St. Claire HealthCare’s comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation unit is best for those needing a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Most patients who need inpatient rehabilitation are healing from life-changing illnesses or accidents. Our team of medical and rehabilitation experts design custom rehabilitation programs for each patient to get them back home or to the next level of care as quickly as possible.

We provide two levels of care to meet your rehab needs:

  • Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation: Patients admitted for acute inpatient rehabilitation require a combination of intensive therapy services in a hospital setting. Common conditions needing inpatient rehabilitation include, but are not limited to, stroke, head or spinal cord injuries, major trauma, amputation, hip fractures, and other neurological and orthopedic conditions.
  • Skilled Nursing Care: Skilled nursing care is a perfect fit for patients that need extra rehabilitation and training after an acute hospital stay, but before going home. Patients with weakness, decreased ability to walk or maintain balance, or decreased ability to participate safely in self-care and regular activities following a hospitalization, may be a candidate for this service.

Referrals and admissions are coordinated through our case manager. For more information, please call 606.783.6650 or fax referrals to 606.783.6658.
