Community Springs Into Wellness with St. Claire HealthCare’s Health Fair and Conference

Recently, St. Claire HealthCare hosted Spring into Wellness, a health fair and conference, presented by the Porter Insurance Group, LLC.

“Our core values align with St. Claire’s, in a desire to meet the needs of our community and we are proud to partner on this meaningful event,” said Gene Porter, Owner/CEO of The Porter Group Insurance, LLC.

The event was a great success, featuring over 40 vendors from throughout the healthcare system and the community. The event promoted health in the region, providing attendees with free medical screenings, medical information, insurance provider informational booths, resources from a variety of community groups, and more. With March being Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, there also was a strong focus on colon cancer screenings, with speeches and an inflatable colon showing various levels of disease.

“We are truly blessed to be able to participate in this educational evening. Many important resources were shared with the attendees,” said Julia Porter, Owner/CFO of The Porter Group Insurance, LLC.

Following the health fair, attendees of the event participated in educational breakout sessions with some of St. Claire HealthCare’s top providers. Sessions featured topics including, breast surgery, nephrology, neurology, vascular, weight loss, and women’s health and included an open question and answer session.

“We are honored to be a part of this amazing community and to have the opportunity to share our resources with its people,” said Gary Bunch, MD, SCH’s VP for Medical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer. “There are medical advances every day and our providers have been thrilled to discuss how they can make a difference in the lives of their patients utilizing the latest techniques.”
