UK St. Claire Names Patterson Director of Emergency Services

UK St. Claire is pleased to announce that Lara Patterson, BSN, RN, SANE, has accepted the position of Director of Emergency Services.

In this role, Patterson will oversee the clinical, administrative, financial, and disciplinary processes in the Emergency Department. She will also direct all related patient-centered functions and ensure that high standards of care and evidence-based nursing care are delivered to all patients.

“I am excited about my new role because a lot of the patients we serve do not have the resources that they need,” said Patterson. “I love being a solution for their care.”

Patterson was also one of the first nurses at St. Claire to receive her Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) certification and was vital in getting SCH recognized as a SANE-ready hospital, one of only 14 hospitals in Kentucky. To be SANE-ready, acute care hospitals certify annually that a SANE nurse is available on-call twenty-four hours a day for the examination of victims of sexual offenses who are seeking treatment.

Patterson is from West Liberty, Kentucky, and graduated from Morehead State University with her Associate Nursing Degree in 2016. The following year, she received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Chamberlain University and is currently on track to graduate in the summer of 2024 with her master's degree in Nurse Executive Leadership from Northern Kentucky University.
