Stock Yards Bank Supports HealthCare Professionals With UK St. Claire Foundation Scholarships

UK St. Claire is proud to announce with the charitable commitment of Stock Yards Bank & Trust, a new scholarship is available to help support healthcare professionals through the SCH Foundation. The Stock Yards Bank HealthCare Scholarship is awarded to two students in Rowan or Elliott Counties who are majoring in the healthcare field. This $10,000 scholarship will be awarded over the course of the recipient’s college career and comes with an offer of employment from SCH upon completion of their degree. This year, Kandace Chandler and Emily Maggard are the recipients of the Stock Yards Bank & Trust HealthCare Scholarship.
 

Chandler is a graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and will be a freshman at Morehead State University this fall pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Chandler plans to further her education and earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice and become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Throughout her high school career, Chandler took college courses and obtained certifications as a Registered Kentucky Nurse Aide, Registered Kentucky Medication Aide, and became HIPPA certified.

Maggard is a graduate of Elliott County High School and will be a freshman at Morehead State University obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Chemistry this fall. Maggard plans to go to medical school and aspired to be a pulmonologist to help those in Eastern Kentucky suffering from lung diseases. She was a member of several academic groups and volunteered in her community with youth programs and nursing home visits throughout her high school career.
