St. Claire HealthCare Welcomes 1st Baby of the New Year

St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) welcomed the 1st baby of the New Year, on January 2, 2023. Baby boy, Easton Michael Hall, was born to excited parents Laken Barker and Michael Hall of Morehead.

Easton made his arrival at 9:35 AM weighing 8 lbs 11 oz. and measuring 20 3/4 inches long.

He was delivered by Melanie Abner, CNM, with UK Morehead Women’s Healthcare.

“We had no idea that we were going to be having the first baby of the new year,” said Barker. “He was due on January 10 and we were coming tomorrow to be induced, but I believe he had other plans.”

“Welcoming the 1st baby of the year born at St. Claire is always an exciting moment to be celebrated,” said St. Claire Women’s Care Nurse Manager Jon Nicole Tate, BSN, RN. “It is a moment that is remembered for both the family of the newborn and staff that continue this tradition at SCH.”

St. Claire celebrated Easton’s arrival by showering him with gifts including a Pack n’ Play, a stroller, a car seat,
a high chair, a diaper bag, and additional baby care items.

“The staff here have been awesome through the whole process today,” said Hall. “They made sure both mom and baby were well taken care of.”

Easton was welcomed with love from his parents and his big sister, Everly.
