St. Claire HealthCare Hosts Wellness Wednesday

On Wednesday, St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) hosted Wellness Wednesday at the Morehead Conference Center. Several community vendors from throughout the region joined SCH to provide valuable information to residents in the area.

Attendees participated in a health fair with free health screenings, such as blood pressure, oxygen levels, and more provided by SCH. They also were able to get information on topics such as insurance, housing and food assistance, home medical equipment, and much more.

The event also featured a keynote presentation by Dr. John Sanders, SCH’s Medical Director for Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Sanders discussed the benefits of and differences between hospice and palliative care, as well as the importance of advanced directives. “It was such a privilege to share information about something so beautiful, but misunderstood,” said Sanders.

After his speech, guests were able to participate in a Q&A session with the doctor and get answers to their questions.

SCH would like to thank all of the participating community vendors for attending and helping serve the residents of the area.
