McKenzie Named Director of Professional Development and Patient Experience

St. Claire HealthCare is pleased to announce Melissa McKenzie has accepted a new role as Director of Professional Development and Patient Experience.

A native of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, McKenzie began her career with SCH in 2013. She joined SCH as the Marketing Coordinator for Behavioral Health and was quickly promoted to Program Director of Behavioral Health Services. In 2020, she transitioned into a new role as Director of Patient Care Experience, sharing her passion for providing patients with the best possible experience through enterprise-wide training and strategic initiatives.

“At St. Claire, we are committed to serving our patients with the dignity and compassion they deserve. I am thankful to be part of a system that is dedicated to such a high level of excellence,” said McKenzie.

As Director of Professional Development and Patient Experience, McKenzie will continue to implement and promote strategies to enhance the patient experience, while also designing professional development and educational programs to meet SCH’s strategic initiatives across the health system.

“Through continuously developing our staff, both clinical and non-clinical, we can make sure that our mission to offer a healing ministry to the people of Eastern Kentucky is achieved every day,” she added.

Along with her work at SCH, McKenzie also serves on the Board of Directors for Pathways, Inc. She has a bachelor’s degree from Cumberland College in 2000 and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Ohio University in 2016. Prior to Melissa beginning her career in healthcare in 2008, she was an advocate for victims of abuse in Northeastern KY.
