St. Claire Counseling Center Welcomes Becky Watson, APRN

UK St. Claire (SCH) welcomes Becky Watson, APRN, to its counseling team! Watson is accepting new patients and is excited to build new relationships in the area.

“Managing mental health symptoms and educating patients is what I have found most rewarding throughout my career,” said Watson. “I’m happy to serve patients at St. Claire.”

Watson has been a long-time resident of Fleming County and is pleased to be continuing her career close to home.

“I’ve always had an interest in psychology, especially after earning a degree in the subject,” said Watson. “After working as a nurse for several years, I made the decision to work toward a master’s degree in psychiatric nursing.”

Watson earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2000. She decided to begin a career path in nursing and later earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University. She also holds credentials as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a focus on psychiatric and mental health and as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

“Mental health can be supported in a variety of ways, including therapy, lifestyle changes, and medication,” said Watson. “I enjoy connecting with my patients and figuring out what support they might need from me to best meet their needs.”

The St. Claire Counseling Center offers treatment through a team of nurses, licensed therapists, and psychiatrists who work with individuals to address their unique problems and needs. Virtual or in-person appointments are available at St. Claire Counseling by calling 606.783.6805. You can also request an appointment online at www.st-claire.org/appointment.
