Stevens Awarded Inaugural UK College of Medicine MVPE Award

St. Claire HealthCare is proud to announce that Bodie Stevens, Administrator of the Rural Physician Leadership Program (RPLP), received the UK College of Medicine’s inaugural Mission, Vision, Pillar, and Enabler (MVPE) Award.

This award recognizes individuals in the college who have made exceptional contributions that embody the overall mission, vision, and purpose of the college’s current strategic plan, COMMITS. This plan encompasses excellent education, patient-centered clinical care, transformative research, diversity and inclusion, community engagement, and enabling the success of each.

Stevens is a vital staff member of RPLP where he has established and maintained partnerships in Morehead and the Eastern Kentucky region. He works to build partnerships and help RPLP students advance health in the Commonwealth, particularly in underserved rural populations. Once students graduate, Stevens supports and shares their success with current students to demonstrate the impact they can make as physicians in their communities.

“Stevens is a role model for the RPLP students, an ambassador for UK in Eastern Kentucky, and an integral member of the Morehead community,” said Rebecca Todd, MD, Assistant Dean RPLP. “He is truly deserving of this award.”

He is chair of the Morehead Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Board, district chair for the Rowan County Extension Board, treasurer for Domestic Violence Emergency Services (DOVES) of Gateway, and treasurer for the Eta Gamma Alumni Association of Theta Chi Fraternity.

The RPLP was developed jointly with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, St. Claire HealthCare, and Morehead State University. The program allows students to complete their first two years of basic science education at UK’s main campus in Lexington, then complete their third and fourth years of clinical experiences at St. Claire HealthCare and other sites in rural, northeastern Kentucky.
