St. Claire HealthCare Teams Up With Kentucky Blood Center to Save Lives

During the global pandemic, when so many were in need, St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) and the Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) were able to contribute to our local area to help prevent a critical blood shortage. In 2021, St. Claire HealthCare hosted eight blood drives with the KBC, collecting 158 units of blood. These units were administered to approximately 474 people throughout the state of Kentucky, giving them lifesaving blood products.

KBC provides blood to more than 70 hospitals in Kentucky. They have donor centers in Lexington, Louisville, Somerset, and Pikeville, and will be opening centers in Frankfort and Corbin this summer. They also have mobile units, like the ones that come to St. Claire, to allow donors to contribute more conveniently.

St. Claire HealthCare and the Kentucky Blood Center would like to thank all the donors that have helped throughout the years and the ones that continue to help now. With your generous donation, lives can be saved.

Join us for our next blood drive on Thursday, May 12, from 8AM-2PM. Register online at www.kybloodcenter.org or call 1-800-775-2522.
