St. Claire Healthcare’s Hospice Program Hosts Mother’s Day Tea

St. Claire Healthcare’s Hospice Program Hosts Mother’s Day Tea

Last week, St. Claire’s Hospice Program held a Mother’s Day Tea for the community to honor and share memories of their mothers. The event allowed people to come together and help one another cope with the loss of such an important figure in one’s life.

Featuring live music and a guest speaker, the event focused on the importance of remembering mothers and grandmothers and the impact that they had on the lives of those around them. They are the people who guide and develop you through life. Their knowledge and wisdom trickle down through the generations and impact the lives of many. The loss of such a person is difficult and having the support of others can be a great benefit.

“We are honored that so many people came out to share the memories of their mothers with us. It is through the memories and stories that our loved ones live on and continue to bless us with their love,” said Tiffany Fannin, LSW, a social worker for SCH Hospice. “We hope that by coming together as a community, we can help each other heal from the loss of such an important person.”

Guests brought photographs and mementos of their mothers and shared stories about the love, strength, and lasting impacts that their mothers had on their lives. Each guest was presented with a yellow rose in remembrance of their mother, as well as aides for dealing with the loss of a loved one.

SCH offers a variety of services to help deal with the loss of a loved one. For more information on bereavement or counseling services, please contact St. Claire Hospice at 606.783.6808.
