Oldham Joins St. Claire HealthCare’s Comprehensive Cancer Center as Patient Navigator

St. Claire HealthCare is proud to announce that Jessica Oldham has joined its Comprehensive Cancer Center as an oncology patient navigator.

A patient navigator plays a valuable role in the journey of a cancer patient. In this position, Oldham will serve as a mentor that advocates for the patient, assists in coordinating appointments, and is a resource for information from before diagnosis through all phases of the cancer journey.

Oldham will also help in making patient referrals and serve as a resource for information on hospital and community-based services.

A native of Olive Hill, Oldham began her career with St. Claire nearly 18 years ago as an Environmental Services Assistant. In 2005, she transferred to 3rd Floor North where she became a nurse’s aide and would soon become a Patient Care Assistant (PCA). As PCA, she worked on several units including 4th Floor Nursing, Float Pool, and the Outpatient Care Center. For the last 12 years, Oldham has worked in Centralized Scheduling as a scheduler, becoming a supervisor in 2016 and adding the responsibilities of pre-authorizations and referrals in 2018.

“Oncology patients are so special to me,” said Oldham. “I want our patients to feel comfortable coming to me when they have any worries or concerns.”
