Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for St. Claire HealthCare’s New Urgent Care Center in Morehead

Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for St. Claire HealthCare’s New Urgent Care Center in Morehead

“It’s a big day for St. Claire’s healing ministry,” said Donald H. Lloyd, President/CEO of St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) as he welcomed more than 100 guests to the official groundbreaking ceremony for SCH’s Urgent Care Center.

The new facility, conveniently located just off I-64 and KY-32 in Morehead, will offer urgent care services seven days a week, and will also house SCH’s first occupational medicine practice designed to meet the needs of businesses and industries with preventative care and treatment for work-related injuries.

According to Lloyd, this project is among the first of many strategic investments in the pipeline for SCH, stating this will be the first of what he hopes will be many facilities to meet the needs of this region and expand access to quality healthcare.

SCH is making a nearly $4 million capital investment in the initial project. When fully operational, the 5,000 sq. ft. facility is expected to employ 25-30 staff with an average annual salary of approximately $86,000.

“It’s a great day for Rowan County,” said Harry Clark, Judge-Executive of Rowan County. “But this is not just about Rowan County or the City of Morehead. It’s much bigger than that.”

During his remarks, Clark recognized that SCH’s Urgent Care Center will not only provide care for citizens of Rowan and the surrounding counties but will offer quality healthcare to travelers along I-64 and the thousands of tourists who visit the area each year.

While the new facility is under construction, urgent care services are available at the SCH Outpatient Center at 1028 E. Main St., (just off US 60 East). Care is available Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM, Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM, and Sundays from Noon to 4 PM.
