Amy Amburgey, DNP, APRN, Joins St. Claire HealthCare Urgent Care Team

St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) is preparing for the opening of the Urgent Care Center and lining up a group of providers to provide excellent care for our community! Who better to provide exceptional care than a familiar face? Amy Amburgey, DNP, APRN, is excited to be joining the Urgent Care team!

Amburgey started her healthcare career in 2014 in the Emergency Department (ED) at St. Claire HealthCare as she worked to earn her nursing degree at Morehead State University. She started as a nursing care tech and worked her way up through nearly every nursing position in the ED as she progressed in her education.

“I’ve always had a special interest in the science behind how the body works,” said Amburgey. “That, paired with my desire to be a caretaker and fixer of things, led me to healthcare.”

With her experience in emergency care, Amburgey is confident that she and the Urgent Care team will make a positive impact throughout the community. Not only will the Urgent Care Center offer a new, convenient healthcare option for the community, but it will also increase access to care in other settings by reducing the demand on primary care clinics and the ED.

“In the Urgent Care Center, our goal will be to provide our patients with easy access to the care they need while freeing up our ED team to focus on emergent issues and our primary care providers to focus on patients’ long-term care,” said Amburgey. “Offering a walk-in service where our patients can get relief fast helps everyone.”

The St. Claire Urgent Care Center is set to open in March at the St. Claire Outpatient Center (1028 East Main St., Morehead, KY, 40351). Care will be available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM, Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday from Noon to 4 PM.
