Nathan Atkins, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, CWOCN, Joins St. Claire HealthCare Wound Care

St. Claire HealthCare is proud to announce the addition of Nathan Atkins, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, CWOCN, to its medical staff. Atkins will join Colby Holmes, DPM, and Richard W. Proudfoot, MD, on SCH”s advanced wound care team.

“This is my seventh year working with wound and ostomy patients and I am so passionate about this specialty,” said Atkins. “It requires a specialized skill and empathy and I am happy to bring that to this community.”

Atkins earned specialty certifications in wound ostomy & continence management from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and received his Master of Science in Nursing from Ohio University.

As a wound care advance practice professional, Atkins will be treating acute traumatic injuries, surgical, vascular, and diabetic wounds, as well as pressure wounds, colostomies, ileostomies, and feeding tubes.

“I love the connection that I am able to make with these patients and my ability at St. Claire to follow them both in the hospital and in the outpatient setting, providing the continuity of care that they deserve,” said Atkins.

In his free time, Atkins enjoys playing the piano and spending time with his dog, Barb.
