Mark Rhodes to Join St. Claire HealthCare’s Administrative Council

St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) is excited to announce Mark Rhodes, MBA, will be joining its Administrative Council as Vice President of the St. Claire Medical Group.

In this new position, Rhodes will provide direction and guidance to the St. Claire Medical Group, including primary care, urgent care, pediatrics, and specialty care practices. He will work to identify opportunities for growth and implement new strategies to benefit patient care in these practices. Clinical effectiveness, successful financial performance, and continuous improvement of service delivery and operations are key goals for Rhodes as he transitions into a VP role.

“Mark has shown true dedication and loyalty to SCH throughout his career,” said Donald H. Lloyd, II, SCH President/CEO. “He joined the team in 2009 and has consistently contributed to the growth of the medical group, as well as the enterprise as a whole. I know that he will do great things in his new position.”

A native of Morehead, Rhodes earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and Master of Business Administration – Health Systems Management from Morehead State University. He began his career at SCH as a financial analyst and gained more than 10 years of experience with finance and data analytics. Rhodes also has nearly a decade of experience in senior-level operational oversight having served in roles including Director of Morehead Medical Specialists, Administrative Director of Specialty Practices, and most recently as Executive Director of the St. Claire Medical Group.

“Throughout his career, Mark has not only displayed exceptional efforts within his everyday tasks, but he has a proven track record of successfully managing opportunities that might unexpectedly cross his path,” said Lloyd. “The level of growth achieved by our medical group throughout the pandemic under Mark’s leadership is astounding.”

In order to keep patients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, SCH had to rethink how to deliver care. Rhodes was a key member of the SCH team responsible for developing new patient care models. Under Rhodes’ leadership, the Medical Group was able to successfully implement virtual and curbside visits throughout the health system while also growing and expanding the Medical Group.

“While most of the world seemed to stop with the pandemic, Mark saw the silver lining and growth opportunities for SCH,” said Lloyd. “He and his team have been extremely responsive to the changing landscape of healthcare and consistently adapt workflows and redeploy staff to meet our patients’ needs.”

Despite the pandemic, an additional 19 new physicians were recruited and onboarded into the Medical Group and on March 17, SCH expanded access to care once again with the grand opening of SCH Urgent Care. The Urgent Care Center provides walk-in care, seven days a week, for common illnesses and moderate injuries. The new location serves patients in Morehead and the surrounding counties.

“Mark was instrumental in the development of SCH’s urgent care initiatives,” said Lloyd. “He saw the need for this new level of care for the community and set forth to fill that void.”

Rhodes will continue to play a vital role in the future growth of the Medical Group as St. Claire HealthCare eagerly grows to meet and exceed the needs of patients throughout the communities it serves.
