St. Claire HealthCare Proudly Welcomes Erin Waddell, MD, to Its Medical Staff

St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) is proud to announce the addition of pediatric physician, Erin Waddell, MD, to its medical staff.

Having grown up in Sandy Hook, Dr. Waddell is no stranger to the area or to SCH. Not only did she begin her medical career as part of a medical pipeline through the Eastern Kentucky Area Health Education Center (NE KY AHEC), but she was also a part of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Rural Physician Leadership Program (RPLP). She completed much of her education and training at SCH, but it was after her pediatric residency at Marshall University that she decided that she wanted to care for children at the place she calls home … St. Claire HealthCare.

“I’m really excited to provide care at St. Claire,” says Dr. Waddell. “The people who worked with me through school and offered me the experience I have today are who I get to work with and I think that’s great!”

Dr. Waddell joins Nancy Henly, MD, who she worked alongside throughout both medical school and residency, at St. Claire Pediatrics in Morehead.

“I just think Dr. Henly is amazing with kids and provides excellent care. She has so much experience, so I’m looking forward to getting to work alongside her,” says Dr. Waddell.

While Dr. Waddell is excited to be returning to SCH, she says she is most looking forward to getting to create new relationships with the kids in the area.

“I’m really excited to watch as your children grow,” says Dr. Waddell. “There’s just something about watching a child go from a tiny baby that cries and coos to a child with their own personality. My favorite part of pediatrics is just getting to witness that in itself.”

In her own words, Dr. Waddell says that she is very much the “mamaw-type”. In her spare time, she enjoys baking pies, crocheting, knitting, and gardening.

St. Claire Pediatrics not only offers care for your children’s illnesses and injuries, but also annual checkups, immunizations, and more.
