St. Claire HealthCare Receives KHA Grassroots Advocacy Leadership Award

St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) received the Kentucky Hospital Association’s (KHA) first annual Grassroots Advocacy Leadership Award during its recent Health Care Leadership Conference.

Donald H. Lloyd, II, SCH President/CEO accepted the award on SCH’s behalf for its leadership and advocacy for Kentucky’s hospitals. Throughout 2021, the St. Claire team stayed in contact with elected officials to help them understand how different pieces of legislation would impact hospitals across the Commonwealth and the thousands of healthcare workers working tirelessly to care for their neighbors.

“We’re honored that KHA recognized SCH’s leadership and effectiveness by advocating for legislative and regulatory policy positions that favorably impact the health and well-being of our region,” said Lloyd. “St. Claire HealthCare and its affiliates have developed a reputation for establishing effective working relationships with policy makers and legislative leaders at all levels of government.”

KHA uses the VoterVoice system to allow its members to easily contact state and federal legislators in order to share the hospital story. Each year, KHA will use the data from this software to honor a hospital or health system for its advocacy efforts because nothing compares to an elected official hearing directly from his or her constituents on the issues that affect them personally.
