St. Claire HealthCare Expands Medical Staff at Frenchburg Primary Care Clinic

St. Claire HealthCare (SCH) is excited to announce Carolyn Moore, MD, and Kim Bromagen, PA-C, have joined the team at its primary care clinic in Frenchburg.

“I’ve been treating patients at St. Claire’s Olive Hill clinic for nearly 30 years. I love caring for people and I’m excited about the opportunity to expand my practice and share my medical expertise with patients in the Frenchburg community,” said Dr. Moore.

Dr. Moore earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital, Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia and has been caring for patients at St. Claire’s Olive Hill location since she joined the St. Claire medical staff in 1993. Dr. Moore will be sharing her time between the Frenchburg and Olive Hill clinics.

A native of Bath County, Bromagen is a graduate of the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant program with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients. She began her career at St. Claire HealthCare’s Owingsville clinic in 2005 and most recently has been caring for patients in Morehead at the St. Claire HealthCare Medical Pavilion.

“During my time with St. Claire HealthCare I’ve seen patients in Owingsville, Morehead, and now Frenchburg,” said Bromagen. “I always enjoy meeting new people and caring for patients of all ages. I often form a bond of loyalty with my patients over time and I am excited to continue to build relationships with patients throughout SCH’s service region.”

Dr. Moore and Bromagen join Jennifer Akers, APRN, who has been seeing patients in Frenchburg since 2016. Akers received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Morehead State University and a Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University. Prior to becoming an advance practice provider, Akers served several years as an RN. A native of Bath County, Akers has made Menifee County her home.

St. Claire’s primary clinics provide care for the entire family, from newborns and teens to parents and grandparents with same day or next day appointments available, Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

“Whether you need an annual checkup, an immunization, or comprehensive care for a chronic illness like high blood pressure or diabetes, our doctors are here to care for you in your local community,” said Donald H. Lloyd, II, SCH President/CEO. “While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the face of healthcare, our commitment to providing quality medical care for the residents of our rural communities is unwavering.”

For those who aren’t ready to return to the clinic for an in-person visit, St. Claire will continue to offer virtual visits. Virtual visits allow patients to connect with healthcare providers at any location from the comfort of their homes. Virtual curbside visits are also available by special request for those who don’t have a mobile device or just aren’t comfortable with technology.

To schedule an in-person, virtual, or curbside virtual visit, call 606.768.2191 or 606.784.6641.

St. Claire is making it even easier to get an appointment by introducing self-scheduling for basic primary care appointments through the MyHealth patient portal. If you don’t have a portal account yet, simply complete the enrollment request at www.st-claire.org/enroll, then check your email for further instructions. Other features of the patient portal include the ability to view lab results and reports, view your visit history, request prescription refills, message your healthcare team, and more!
