St. Claire HealthCare Offers Staff a Sweet Surprise

Day after day, the staff at St. Claire HealthCare strives to provide exceptional care to every patient of the healthcare system. When annual events, such as the Staff Ice Cream Social, were being canceled due to COVID-19, SCH leaders knew they had to think out of the box to show special appreciation to their teams.

“Everyone works so hard every day, even before we were hit with a pandemic,” said Christa Robinson, SCH Chief Human Resources Officer. “They deserve something special so they know that their efforts to continue our mission at St. Claire HealthCare do not go unnoticed.”

St. Claire’s senior leadership team, with the help of the Human Resources department, set out to surprise staff with ice cream treats.

“We couldn’t bring everyone together for our annual Ice Cream Social, so we took the ice cream out to our staff,” said Lee Ann O’Bryan, SCH VP/Chief Ancillary Officer. “It was really rewarding to be able to talk with our staff and just show that we appreciate their hard work.”

SCH staff were able to take a small break from their hectic schedules to enjoy their frozen treats and recharge for the rest of their shift.

“We have several staff who work offsite on a regular basis and we didn’t want them to miss out on the treats,” said Robinson. “We want to thank our local Dairy Queen for donating ice cream vouchers that we could send to those members of our team.”

Many staff members have also been brightening each other’s day with “Essentially Awesome Care Packages” from the St. Claire Gift Shop. These care packages are filled with self-care and pick-me-up items that can be delivered throughout St. Claire HealthCare.

“Our healthcare heroes deserve to be pampered and rewarded for their hard work, so what better way to do this than to surprise them with a special gift?” said Roberta Gilbert, SCH Gift Shop Coordinator.
