UK St. Claire and the Sisters of Notre Dame Eastern Kentucky Foundation awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarships to 46 students from across Eastern Kentucky who are pursuing health care careers.

Made possible through the generosity of donors and scholarship endowments, these awards support local students, expand educational opportunities and help strengthen the region's future health care workforce.

Recipients represent 11 counties, including Bath, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Lewis, Magoffin, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, Rowan and Wolfe. Students are pursuing degrees in nursing, physician assistant studies, pharmacy, radiology, imaging sciences, physical therapy, medicine and other high-demand health care fields. Download the full list of recipients and their home counties by following the link below.

“We are honored to support students in our region as they pursue higher education and careers in health care,” said Donald H. Lloyd II, president and CEO of UK St. Claire. “These scholarships represent an investment in the future of Eastern Kentucky and in the students who will help strengthen communities across our region.”

“Every scholarship represents an opportunity for a student to pursue their goals and make a difference in the lives of others,” said Mindy Highley, CEO and executive director of the Sisters of Notre Dame Eastern Kentucky Foundation. “We are grateful to the donors whose generosity makes these awards possible and proud to support these amazing students.”

As part of UK HealthCare, UK St. Claire continues to advance health across the region through educational partnerships, workforce development initiatives, community engagement and programs that expand access to advanced care close to home.
