Whitaker Bank Celebrates St. Claire HealthCare’s 60th Anniversary

In recognition of St. Claire HealthCare’s (SCH) 60th anniversary of serving the people of eastern Kentucky, Whitaker Bank has made a $60,000 charitable commitment. This generous contribution will support high-priority clinical needs and educational initiatives.

“Whitaker Bank is honored to support the continued mission of St. Claire HealthCare and its service to the people of the region,” said Elmer Whitaker, CEO of Whitaker Bank.

Through this partnership, a new academic scholarship, the Whitaker Bank Scholarship, will provide a meaningful scholarship to a graduating senior from specific Kentucky counties pursuing a degree in a healthcare program. This award is valued at $10,000 and comes with an offer of employment from St. Claire upon the recipient’s completion of their degree.

Additionally, Whitaker Bank’s contribution will provide much-needed support to cancer patients as they begin their chemotherapy and radiation treatment paths. “This is one of the most meaningful services available at St. Claire and we are pleased to be able to support these patients when they need it most,” said Leisa Kidd, Whitaker Bank Area Operations Manager.

“The St. Claire HealthCare Foundation is grateful that Whitaker Bank has chosen to support our patients with this commitment,” said Mindy Highley, SCH Executive Director, Community Engagement and Philanthropy. “Whitaker Bank’s generosity will make a tremendous impact in the lives of those we serve.”
