Emily Gosser, MD

Dr. Gosser is originally from Paris, Kentucky and completed undergraduate studies at Eastern Kentucky University. She completed medical school at the University of Kentucky with the Rural Physician Leadership Program., and her internal medicine residency at MAHEC in Asheville, North Carolina. She has trained and lived in Appalachia, allowing her to better understand needs and barriers to care in the area. Her training as an internalist has allowed exposure and education with specialists, ensuring she can manage complex medical conditions in the primary care setting. Outside of work she enjoys baking, thrifting and watching movies.

Personal Statement

I was attracted to Primary Care because of my enjoyment of preventive medicine and ability to provide continuity of care. I like being able to make shared decisions based on the history of the patient as a whole person, working together to make treatment plans that are successful and manageable. I then chose Internal Medicine because it gave me the tools to manage patients with complex conditions who may not yet need a specialist to manage their care.
