About
Chantae Lykins is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at UK St. Claire Counseling Center. She treats anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, perinatal and postpartum mental health concerns, and other related conditions.
Lykins earned her master’s degree in nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Versailles. After working as a registered nurse for years and seeing firsthand how deeply mental health affects every aspect of a person’s life, she pursued advanced training to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Personal Statement
My philosophy of care is rooted in the belief that every patient deserves to feel heard, respected and understood without judgment. I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach that considers the whole person, including their experiences, relationships, environment and individual goals. I strive to create a space where patients feel comfortable being honest about their struggles and confident in their treatment plan.
I believe effective mental healthcare goes beyond managing symptoms. It is about helping patients better understand themselves, develop practical coping strategies and build a foundation for lasting wellness.
Outside of practicing medicine, I enjoy gardening, cooking and exploring new places. I appreciate finding ways to slow down, spend time outdoors and learn new things.
