Residency Program

The program is tailored to each resident's strengths and weaknesses and is designed to produce a solid foundation in the provision of pharmaceutical care, practice management and essential skills. Upon acceptance to the residency program, each resident will complete a self-assessment form where they identify their strengths and any areas where they want or need more exposure. Utilizing required and elective learning experiences, the program is tailored to each resident. View a sample resident training plan.

Core Rotations

Required, core rotations usually last four to eight weeks and consist of:

  • Practice foundation skills/orientation
  • Internal medicine
  • Family medicine
  • Critical care/ICU
  • Surgery
  • Geriatrics/long-term care
  • Pharmacy management
  • Ambulatory care
  • Infectious disease

Longitudinal learning experiences take place during the year and consist of:

  • Pharmacy leadership
  • Drug information
  • Residency project
  • Pharmacy and therapeutics committee
  • Medication safety
  • Informatics
  • Ambulatory care

Pharmacy Services

Pharmacists at SCH provide quality distributive and clinical pharmaceutical care. As a licensed pharmacist, residents will actively be involved in distributive functions (via their staffing component) and will be expected to gain proficiency in providing clinical services.

Clinical Services at SCH consist of the following:

  • Pharmacokinetic dosing
  • Vancomycin, aminoglycosides, fosphenytoin, etc.
  • Systemic anticoagulation
  • Weight-based IV unfractionated heparin dosing and monitoring
  • Warfarin dosing and monitoring
  • Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) dosing and monitoring
  • Argatroban dosing and monitoring
  • TPN/PPN nutrition support
  • Pain management
  • Medication counseling
  • Medication reconciliation assistance

Kadin Ashley, PharmD

Dr. Kadin Ashley and is originally from Greenup, Kentucky where he graduated from Greenup County High School. Dr. Ashley studied Human Health Sciences for three years at the University of Kentucky before starting pharmacy school. Dr. Ashley is a 2020 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. His professional interest is ambulatory care and personal interests include golfing, skiing, and UK athletics



Mollie Kilgallin, PharmD

Dr. Mollie Kilgallin is originally from Camp Dix, Kentucky where she graduated from Lewis County High School. She studied Chemistry and Public Health with an Epidemiology focus for two years at the University of Kentucky before starting pharmacy school. Dr. Kilgallin is a 2020 graduate from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May of 2020. Her professional interest is oncology and personal interests include spending time with family, kayaking, going to concerts, cheering for the CATS(!) and baking.


Amanda Lewis, PharmD

Dr. Amanda Lewis graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 2018 and began working for St. Claire shortly afterward. Since she grew up in northeastern KY, and attended Morehead State University for undergrad, she always felt St. Claire was a perfect fit for her. Dr. Lewis enjoys playing with her two year old son, crafting and watching Netflix documentaries.

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2017. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he completed his pre-pharmacy coursework at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Greanias’ professional interests include oncology and infectious disease. His personal interests include CrossFit, cooking, reading, and spending time with his two cats, Ash and Fawks.

Brandy Brown, PharmD

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2019. Originally from Sandy Hook, Kentucky, she completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at University of Kentucky. Dr. Brown’s professional interest is emergency medicine. Her personal interests include spending time with her family, cooking, running, and traveling.

We would like to congratulate her on accepting a position as an Emergency Medicine clinical pharmacist at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the Marshall University School of Pharmacy in May 2019. Originally from Russell, Kentucky, she has a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Marshall University. Dr. Fields’ professional interests include pediatrics and ambulatory care. Her personal interests include spending time with her husband and children, gardening, and reading.

Kaitlyn Bartley, PharmD

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2018. Originally from Pikeville, Kentucky, she completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at Morehead State University. Dr. Bartley’s professional interest is oncology. Her personal interests include hiking, cheering on the CATS, and being outdoors. We would like to congratulate her on matching with the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, for a position as a PGY2 oncology pharmacy resident.

Lauren “Katie” Craycraft, PharmD

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2018. Originally from Winchester, Kentucky, she completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at Eastern Kentucky University. Dr. Craycraft’s professional interests include critical care and emergency medicine. Her personal interests include reading, spending time with her family and friends, and playing with her dogs, Jack and Ziva. We are excited to welcome her aboard as a clinical pharmacist at St. Claire HealthCare.


Caroline Barnard, PharmD

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy at East Tennessee State University in May 2017. Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, she completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Barnard's professional interests include psychiatry, pain management and internal medicine. Her personal hobbies include traveling, going to concerts, playing with her adorable puppy Cooper, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the CATS! We would like to congratulate her on matching with the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, for a position as a PGY2 psychiatric pharmacy resident.


Jonathan Perdue, PharmD

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2014. Originally from Catlettsburg, Kentucky, he completed his pre-pharmacy coursework at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Perdue's professional interests include infectious disease and neurology. Caitlin Sinclair, PharmD

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2016. Originally from Versailles, Kentucky, she completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. Dr. Sinclair Guerin's professional interests include infectious disease and critical care. Her personal hobbies are hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. She also enjoys cooking and trying new recipes. Dr. Sinclair Guerin is currently Pharmacy Operations Manager and a PGY1 pharmacy residency preceptor at St. Claire HealthCare.

Brook Walsh, PharmDBrook Walsh, PharmD

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2016. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, he began his pre-pharmacy studies at Wayne State University before transferring to the University of Kentucky, where he completed the remainder of his undergraduate coursework. Dr. Walsh's professional interests include anticoagulation, cardiology, toxicology, critical care and emergency medicine. His personal hobbies include creative writing, kayaking, traveling and backpacking. We would like to congratulate Dr. Walsh on matching with Advocate Christ Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, for a position as a PGY2 emergency medicine pharmacy resident.

Zack Saghaian, PharmDZach Saghaian, PharmD, BCPP

Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2015. He was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, and completed his undergraduate coursework at the University of Kentucky. His hobbies include soccer, reading, learning languages and spending time with family. Joined St. Claire HealthCare after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in May 2015. Dr. Simpkins is originally from Mayfield, Kentucky. He completed his undergraduate pre-pharmacy coursework at the University of Kentucky. His hobbies include golfing, spending time at the lake with friends and family, and following University of Kentucky athletics.
