St. Claire HealthCare is proud to announce the full-time addition of Selena Raines, D.O., to our medical staff in St. Claire Primary Care.
Dr. Raines’ military service has taken her around the world in the pursuit of healing others. “My 12 years as a medic in the U.S. Army was what motivated me to pursue a career in healthcare,” says Dr. Raines. “It was also during my time as a medic that I was first exposed to osteopathic medicine which interested me because of the focus on the full person; mind, body and spirit.”
Dr. Raines, a Louisville native, received her medical degree from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Pikeville and completed her residency at St. Claire HealthCare. Raines has been serving the Morehead area since 2015 as a resident with St. Claire Family Medicine.
“From the moment I walked through the doors of St. Claire, I knew I was home,” says Dr. Raines. “I had an amazing experience during my residency, so it was an easy decision to start my medical practice here and continue to serve the medical needs of this community.”
Dr. Raines has a passion for health policy and advocates for enhanced access to safe, quality healthcare. She is actively involved in the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and holds a seat on the board of trustees of the Kentucky Osteopathic Medical Association.
Dr. Raines enjoys spending time with her husband, Jayd, and two children, Hayden and Hadley. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, hiking and scuba diving.
