Patient Care Associate II
Full Time, PRN
Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of a certified Nursing Assistant Program (CNA) is required.
Experience: None required if CNA or have completed first semester of a nursing program (LPN or RN). Previous nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Certifications/Licensure: CNA certification must be current and is waived if completed the first semester of nursing program.
The role of a Patient Care Associate II is defined as one who functions in an assistant role in providing care for a patient. In addition, the PCA II can provide clerical services for effective and efficient operation of the unit. This individual can expect to be assigned duties that are determined not to require exercise of independent nursing judgment. The PCA II is responsible for accepting only those delegated acts for which they are competent to perform.
The PCA II role involves observation and documentation of the client's well-being and the delivery of appropriate services to promote optimal mental health. These duties include helping individuals deal with addictions/drug abuse, suicide risk, and stress management in an inpatient setting. Under the supervision of licensed staff, facilitates implementation of the Treatment Plan within the scope of duties of a non-licensed professional.
