Enhancements
Some of the most recent state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging enhancements at St. Claire Regional includes the following:
CT (Toshiba Aquilion 64-Slice) - SCR’s new 64-Slice CT scanner is capable of capturing high resolution 3-dimensional images of internal organs and anatomy in a matter of seconds, and is especially useful in diagnosing blocked coronary arteries without an invasive procedure.
PACS (Picture Archiving Communications Systems) - PACS enables diagnostic images such as X-Rays and scans to be stored electronically and viewed on monitors, so physicians and other health professionals can access the information and compare it with previous images at the touch of a button.
MRI (Siemens Magnetom Symphony, Maestro Class) - acquires detailed images quickly, making MRI procedures faster and simpler for the clinician and patient, thus keeping examination times to a minimum while maximizing patient comfort.
Ultrasound (Siemens Sequoia Signature II Series) – SCR’s new Ultrasound offers improved images of studies of the blood vessels, such as the aorta and those in the legs and neck. In addition, it provides 3-D images of expectant mother’s unborn babies. Images from the new ultrasound equipment provide the clarity of a black and white photograph of an unborn baby’ features.
R2 ImageChecker-SCR’s new R2 ImageChecker has the capability to make breast cancer screenings even more effective. The R2 ImageChecker is the most powerful diagnostic tool for the early detection of breast cancer. This new service is provided for all screening and diagnostic mammograms performed at SCR.
