On November 20, 2008, St. Claire Regional (SCR) along with many hospitals across the state, implemented a Tobacco-Free Campus policy to help enhance the health of our communities. All SCR properties, including the Morehead Medical Specialists, St. Claire Regional Outpatient Center, Cave Run Surgical Specialists, St. Claire HomeCare, St. Claire Counseling, and SCR Family Medicine clinics are designated as tobacco-free properties

What does ‘tobacco-free campus’ mean?
Smoking or use of any tobacco products will not be permitted in any facility or on any properties owned 
and/or leased by SCR.

What is considered a tobacco product and therefore prohibited?
Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, snuff, and pipes.

Who does the policy apply to?
All staff, patients, medical staff, students, volunteers, vendors, contract/agency workers, and visitors.

Do staff, patients, and visitors have to quit using tobacco?
No, SCR is not asking anyone to quit. This policy simply means that no one can use tobacco products on SCR property.
