Center for Health, Education and Research

Construction of the new Center for Health, Education and Research (CHER), a joint collaboration between St. Claire Regional Medical Center (SCR), Morehead State University (MSU) and the University of Kentucky (UK), is well underway. This $30 million project is the largest construction project in the history of both SCR and MSU.
The 90,000+ sq.ft. regional healthcare, education and training facility is scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2010. CHER will house a variety of educational and research programs in addition to the new SCR Family Medicine–Morehead facility.
St. Claire Regional programs will include:
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiest Program (In Cooperation with Trover/Murray State University)
- Northeast KY Area Health Education Center
- St. Claire Regional Family Medicine Residency Program

- Diagnostic Imaging

University of Kentucky programs will include:
- College of Medicine – Rural Physician Leadership Program
- College of Pharmacy – 4th year Students
- College of Dentistry - Students & Residents
- College of Public Health MPH Programs
- Physician Assistant Program
- Center for Excellence in Rural Health - Morehead
- Center for Clinical & Translational Science (REACH)
This wide array of educational and research programs on its campus will establish SCR as a healthcare educational hub for the entire region.
