    Job Requirements/Position Summary: The role of the Clinical Pharmacist is to optimize medication use by the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients. The provision of such care entails that the appropriate medication is used, in the correct dosage, with appropriate monitoring for clinical effect and the absence of adverse effects. The patient’s medication profile is reviewed to assess possible significant drug interactions and inappropriate indications. Drug information is provided in an accurate and timely manner, not only to health professionals, but the public as well. The pharmacist works with other members of the healthcare team to continually improve the medication use process and the drug distribution system so that patients may benefit fully from their medications. Components of this activity includes (but is not limited to) direct supervision of pharmacy technicians and clerical personnel, and service on various interdisciplinary committees.
