Many area residents are in desperate need of medical care, yet, do not have the means to pay for such care. St. Claire Regional Medical Center provided approximately $2.5 million in care last year for the poor in our 11-county service region. Another $3 million was designated as uncompensated care, provided for those who did not meet the official charity care guidelines, but were unable to pay for services. These men, women and children are our friends and neighbors – all relying on St. Claire for basic medical care.
