Brief Description of the Residency Program

The St. Claire Retional Medical Center Pharmacy Practice Residency consists of a 12-month, nonacademic residency in hospital pharmacy practice. It is designed to provide extensive training in all aspects of the practice of pharmacy in a community hospital setting. During the ASHP-acredited residency the resident will become proficient in all areas of pharmacy services including administrative, clinical, and distributive as the practice environment demands. The residency is structured to provide learning experiences that will encourage the development of leadership skills

within the profession and as a member of the health care team. The program is fully supported by enthusiastic, highly competent pharmacy staff. St. Claire is one of the off-campus rotation sites for the University of Kentucky Doctor of Pharmacy candidates and students of other disciplines.

The Residency begins either July 1st and ends June 30th or September 1st and ends August 31st.
